In Chinese, things happened in the past is called 过去发生的事，things happened recently is called 最近发生的事，something is going to happen is called 将要发生的事，things will happen in the future is called 未来会发生的事.
Today is called 今天（ jīn tiān），yesterday is called 昨天（zuó tiān），the day before yesterday is called 前天（qián tiān）.
tomorrow is called 明天（míng tiān），the day after tomorrow is called 后天（hòu tiān）.
the past, present and future tenses in English is quite different from that in Chinese, past is 过去，present is 现在，future is 将来 or 未来，that’s quite simple and direct，so people seldom make grammatical mistakes about time.
the day before yesterday: 前天（qián tiān）
yesterday: 昨天（zuó tiān）
Today: 今天( jīn tiān)
tomorrow: 明天（míng tiān）
the day after tomorrow: 后天（hòu tiān）
