从（人+人）
从（cóng）：
- means “from”, you can use it before a place, such as “from Canada/从加拿大…” “from where?/从哪儿…？”
- means “from” together used with “to”, “from…to….” is called “从……到（dào）……” in Chinese .
- means “be engaged in…”, to have this meaning, 从 can not be used independently, we usually say “从事（cóng shì）” to say someone is engaged in something, for example “I’m engaged in education industry/我从事教育行业”.
- means “join”, also should be used with other characters, for example “join the army/从军（cóng jūn）”.
- means “obey, obedient”, for example “顺从”.
